Tsunami Research Informs HILT’s Coastal Resilience Efforts

Science, framed within cultural perspective and understanding, guides all of Hawaii Land Trust's ecological restoration activities. In many cases, we have to conduct our own research to determine the best path forward, especially when addressing the affects of climate change. Dr. Scott Fisher, HILT's Director of ʻĀina Stewardship, recently published a research paper which explores the history and prehistory of tsunamis in the Hawaiian archipelago, while proposing methods to narrow the gaps in our current understanding of their impacts.
