ABOUT KAINALU RANCH

Located on the island of Moloka‘i in the ahupua‘a of Pūniuohua at about 1,400 feet elevation.  Gently rolling to steep open pasture.  Contains two colonies of the very rare and endangered, Moloka‘i endemic, ko‘oko‘olau (Bidens wiebkei).  The steep terrain on the eastern boundary has provided these plants protection from grazing animals.  Also found here are ‘ilima, kukui, ‘ohi‘a lehua, lama, ‘akia, ‘ulei and alahe‘e.
