Educational Videos

BTS Maunawila 2.jpg

Through a generous grant from the Saunders Family Charitable Foundation, HILT has created an ʻĀina-based Education program at each of our public preserves. The program strives to empower teachers, students, and parents to take learning outside, where science and history come to life.

In the Classroom.

Use the videos provided here in your classroom, then encourage your students to get outside and explore the concepts they’ve learned in their own backyard or at one of our public preserves.

Additional Video Activities.

We’ve paired each video with a list of questions and additional activities to add to the conversation and inspire new ideas

Since regulations related to the COVID-19 pandemic do not allow for large gatherings, field-trips or in-school visits, our ʻĀina Education stewards at each preserve have created a wealth of short educational videos that cover Hawaiian history, ecosystems, and culture; native plants and animals; art and other creative concepts.
